Chitalpa is an intergeneric hybrid originating in cultivation. It forms a dense crown, narrow deciduous leaves and tubular flowers; the described hybrid does not produce fruit.

Size and growth: up to 10 m. Flowering: white to pink flowers; May–September in the USA.
