‘Amanogawa’ is a deciduous cherry with a narrow, upright crown. It reaches 4–8 metres in height and 2.5–4 metres in spread, requiring less space than broadly spreading ornamental cherries.

Its pale pink, semi-double flowers are slightly fragrant and appear in late spring. Autumn leaves turn orange and red. It prefers full sun and moderately fertile, well-drained soil.

The RHS gives 20–50 years to reach mature dimensions. This is not lifespan: the reference provides no reliable lifespan range for this cultivar. Actual growth and flowering depend on the site and weather.
