‘Okame’ is a deciduous ornamental cherry. The Royal Horticultural Society lists it as Prunus × incam ‘Okamé’. Its eventual height is 8–12 metres and spread 4–8 metres; actual growth depends on the site conditions.
In late winter and early spring it bears abundant single carmine-pink flowers, approximately two centimetres across. Its leaves turn orange and red in autumn.
It prefers full sun and moderately fertile soil. The RHS gives 10–20 years as the time to reach its eventual dimensions; this is not the tree’s lifespan. The consulted references do not provide a reliable numerical lifespan for this cultivar. Lifespan: A numerical lifespan range is not established by the references used.
